Product Description
Tuscany, Italy
With a wonderful balance of both fragrance and power, San Polo’s dusty, dark red fruit perfectly captures how superb a Sangiovese can be.
About The Wine
Yet another knockout release here from San Polo. A deliciously earthy and powerful iteration of Sangiovese, living up to everything Brunello is known for - arguably one of Italy's most revered wines, and some may even say it represents the pinnacle of what the Sangiovese variety can do.
There’s subtle depth in this dark red fruit, its cherry and raspberry notes laced with fragrant smoke and rose petal.
The Allegrini family’s quality influence is clearly evident, from the avant garde subterranean winery, to organic farming and sustainability practices across the estate.
About San Polo
Purchased in 2007, the San Polo estate brings together two separate Montalcino properties under the guiding hand of the famed Allegrini family of Valpolicella.
The combined plantings are superb, taking in over 16 hectares of vines in the Montalcino subzone of Castelnuovo dell’Abate on galestro soils (schistous clay).
With a state-of-the-art winery and leadership from Marilisa Allegrini, San Polo has achieved full certification for its organic farming, together with recognition for their sustainable environmental practices from Casa Clima.

"Starting out with earthy, savoury aromas, this red shows fleeting flavours of black currant and raspberry before settling back into notes of earth, iron and juniper. Firm, dusty tannins guard the finish." - JamesSuckling.com -
