For ten consecutive years, this legendary release has marked the exact arrival of winter, and this anniversary edition stands as their absolute boldest, most unapologetic expression yet. Aged for four months in hand-selected, seasoned Bourbon barrels before blending, it pours an ink black, near-opaque midnight obsidian with a dense, creamy mocha head. On the nose, it hits you with an incredibly rich, complex aromatic payload of fudgy dark chocolate, warm espresso, and spicy brown sugar, beautifully framed by sticky bourbon char and sweet vanilla bean notes. The palate is intensely full bodied, velvety, and deep, layering opulent baker's cocoa over a beautifully structured backbone of subtle oak and warming alcohol.
