A Japanese riff on the espresso martini, Mokachu is a sophisticated fusion of traditional rice shochu, artisanal cocoa, and dark-roasted East African coffee beans. Produced by the historic Tsutsumi Shuzo in Kumamoto—one of the few distilleries certified to produce authentic Kuma Shochu—this spirit offers intense aromas of bitter dark chocolate and bold espresso. The palate is silky and deep, with layers of burnt caramel, vanilla bean, and roasted hazelnut that melt into a gentle, warming rice finish. At a mellow 8% ABV, it is designed for versatile sipping: serve it chilled, over ice, or poured over vanilla ice cream for a "Tokyo-style" affogato.
