Delinquente 'Hell Series' Rose 2023

The Hell Series wines represent our experimentation with winemaking techniques, and allow the fruit to express different, unique and compelling characteristics.

This year, we did a saignee from our Aglianico and Nero d’Avola ferments to create the base for this rose – this was done to provide a bit more structure to the reds in a cool, wet year, but also allowed some fantastic savoury elements into the rose blend. Blended post fermentation and kept in stainless steel over winter, we added some skin contact Malvasia in prior to bottling for fruit pop and pithy grip.

Vibrant, almost luminous salmon in the glass, lovely white peach and Turkish delight aromatics come through on the nose. Fresh and fuzzy, the herbaceous elements blend perfectly with the juicy fruit and acid to create a serious rose that doesn’t lack for flavour and refreshment. Pop a bottle in the sunshine alongside some oysters, or kingfish ceviche with pink grapefruit.
