Minimal intervention artisan Patrick Sullivan takes a detour into the legendary Yarra Valley with the exquisite Willow Lake Chardonnay. Sourced from one of the region’s oldest and most revered cool climate sites, this single vineyard release undergoes wild fermentation and sensitive oak aging. Pouring a brilliant pale straw with vibrant greenish hues, it opens with delicate aromatics of crisp green apple, white peach blossom, lemon verbena, and crushed chalk. On the palate, it delivers laser-like precision, wrapping crunchy stone fruit and citrus oil around a tight, highly focused mineral core. Subtle lees contact adds a touch of mid-palate creaminess, seamlessly balanced by a fine, driving line of natural acidity. Elegant, persistent, and intensely aromatic, it’s a masterclass in modern Australian Chardonnay.
