A textbook example of the Flanders Red Ale style, this complex gem is an artful blend of one third Petrus Aged Pale (which spends two years maturing in massive oak foeders) and two thirds young, sweet dark ale. It pours a gorgeous, clear reddish mahogany with a frothy, beige tinted crown. On the nose, it hits you with a highly expressive aromatic payload of wild tart cherries, green apple, balsamic wood, and soft brown sugar. The palate is light-to-medium bodied and incredibly vibrant, effortlessly balancing a crisp, mouth-watering lactic acidity with a comforting, malty caramel backbone.
