The crew at Salt Ash’s Wooden Axe Brewing are refusing to play it safe with Devils Advocate,
an aggressively hopped Red IPA built on a stubborn streak of bitterness. It pours a stunning, deep ruby-red amber in the glass topped with a frothy, off-white crown. On the nose, it hits you with a highly expressive aromatic payload of pine resin, zesty grapefruit, and a sweet, toasted caramel malt backdrop. The palate is robust and beautifully structured, combining a rich backbone of sweet toffee and crystal malts with a punchy wave of citrus and resinous hops. Wrapping up with a firm, lingering, and unapologetically crisp bitter bite, it makes a
compelling case for going all in on bold flavor.
