The local lupulin legends at Newstead’s Range Brewing are bringing absolute fire to the cold room with Heat Check, their first-ever Quadruple Dry-Hopped Double IPA. Pushing hop saturation into uncharted territory, they’ve gone absolutely berserk mid fermentation with Motueka and Rakau Hop Kief, backed by late additions of Citra, Motueka, Dolcita, and Nectaron Cryo. It pours an insanely thick, milky, glowing light yellow with a dense, creamy white crown. Cracking the tin unleashes an aggressive aromatic payload dominated by fresh lychee, bright lime rind, and creamy passionfruit. The palate is spectacularly full-bodied and velvet-smooth, offering an overwhelmingly silky mouthfeel layered with waves of dripping orange citrus, mango pulp, and sweet peach syrup. Striking a flawless balance between massive weight and juicy hop expression, it hides its heavy ABV with zero harsh bitterness.
